I've been having trouble with my automatic transmission, BTR95LE , in my EB V8. Couple months back , I noticed I couldn't manually select gears. I had a look and wiring to Inhibitor switch was cut and not contacting properly. So I Bought some metal wire joiners and crimped them cleanly, back together. Then For a bout two days I could select gears after that. Then all of a sudden it would work again. So Instead I cut them and soldered ttem this time when I rejoined the wires. Still no go. I then changed the inhibor switch to a brand new one. Still no go.
I have a clutch pedal installed with my car (even though it's auto), ciomplete with the clutch switch. it's just sitting behind the carpet. I also have an after market alarm system , but standard cruise control.

Around the same time my trannie started playing up again, I was playing around with my after market alarm system , (because my doors wont lock) , and it was hanging down abit from under the dash , right hand side of my steering column. so I mounted it a little better, checked all my wiring and it seemed to be all connected. Then I found an ORANGE/BLACK and BLACK/WHITE WIRE , hanging down out of one of the looms under the dash.

My question is does anyone know where theese wires go to? Does any one know what they are for? I can post picks of the wires and locations if anybody thinks they might know. Also where is the trannie ECU on the EB V8 ?

Could be the wires from the clutch interlock switch hanging down if this car was previously manual. Could also be the cause of your trans switch problems as these are the same connections relating to auto trans gear Neutral/Drive. What is the catch code of your EEC?
The trans controller is next to the steering column on the left side.

Is the trans controller on the left side of the steering column when facing the front of the car or when facing the rear. I got code number 58 and the description is "TID open circuit" I think TID stands for" Transmission In Drive".

You're kidding right?
TID is "transmission Input data".

Yeah sorry I meant "Transmission input data" . I looked it up a few months back, but forgot. Although I also found that on some vehicles it does mean "Transmission in drive" from an automotive glossary / abreviation website. But on mine it does mean "Transmission input data" , as I can't test the trans computer. Everytime I try it won't even start a diagnostic test. The trannie it'self runs beautiful. I paid $2200 for a full reco and this guy I took it to done an exellent job. I have had no major probs for three years. I used to have to get a reco every 12 months. But cause my engine is worked , I can't tell weather the trannys working to it's full potential. Every now and then when I used to floor it from a stand still, it just used LSD half way up the street with no brakes. Then I would shift back a gear and the trans would change manually. it would work for a few days then stop. It hasn't worked for a while now though. No matter what I do I can't get it to shift manually again.

You want to check the continuity of the wiring from the trans switch all the way back to the trans controller. The fact that you can't initiate a self test suggests wiring problems with the trans controller.
Unplug the controller and physically buzz out(with a multimeter) all the pins to the trans switch and diagnostic connector. Make sure the connectors in the engine bay are clean and fully locked in. Pay particular attention to the round connectors... these can bend pins and cause the problems you are having.
If one of those wires hanging down near the pedals is the ground wire from the trans controller that could explain your problems.

Diagram of pin numbers is available on www.mechanicalforums.com...

In conjunction with delboy's pin listing, should provide plenty of ammunition to go probing with a multi...
