Hi all,

My car has been at shop for 2 weeks and tuner has had no luck with SCT. Its an XH XR8. The engine was previously tuned fine using SCT with no probs (with auto previously).

Catch code for old auto ecu is 6DGD

Now with this old engine in ute, now being manual - I've been using ute's original ecu (being a factory manual).

Catch code for XH ecu 7TAA.

The tuner does not have the files for the 7TAA, but does have for the 6DGD.

There is a major problem with the idle - hunting up and down eventually stalling - even after warm. Tuning SCT made no difference, altho car did idle better using the auto ecu.

Can I run auto ecu without TCM? And just use resister trick? Or does the auto ecu REQUIRE the TCM to be present?

My aim is to have car at least idle properly before I take it back for tuning....

Any experts on this would help!

Can anyone definitely confirm 7TAA is a manual ECU?

Cheers
