Hi all, my EF Fairmont misses badly on start up and clears after about 10 seconds. With limited means of testing i'm finding this hard to diagnose. Does this sound like a fuel pressure reg to any one? Any other ideas?

Without having too much info, can you let us know when the last time you serviced the car was.

Plugs, leads, filters - Oil, Air and Fuel.
does it splutter/surge under normal driving conditions? or only on startup?

Blowing any smoke or crap out of the exhaust? Using any fluids? burning oil? using water?

Any idea what condition your fuel pump is in? Is the car on gas?

Its kind of hard to diagnose without further info.

Answer some of the above questions and I may have some further things to check.

It's possible your Idle Speed Controller needs to be cleaned out.

Only serviced not too long ago. Replaced spark plugs and ht leads. Replaced fuel filter. Air filter is ok. Has a small splutter at idle which has been there for a while. Not using any fluids. Not sure on the fuel pump but i think if it fails it can lead to the same problems a failing fuel pressure reg will give. Not on Gas. Thanks!!
