Hi everyone. Due to the t5 manual in my ed falcon crapping me to tears i have put the auto back in.

Im still running an el auto ecu and have removed my j3 chip and sent it away to be reprogrammed to suit my mods and the auto.

Now the auto is selecting all gears properly but from a standing start to 60kmh it is extremely slow. Not just long 1st gear slow but very slow.but once i hit 60kmh it takes off and flies. Im sure i remember reading about the eecv ecu having some sort of torque reduction strategy.

Can anyone explain how the torque reduction works and what may cause it to activate?

The auto is selecting all gears and reverse light works normal.the inhibitor switch was a known good item.any help would be appreciated.

Thanks and merry Christmas

the v8s have torque reduction strategy which removes ignition timing in 1st and reverse at full throttle under a certain speed to reduce stress on the auto box..

but I don't think or can confirm that the 6 cyl has torque reduction..

Hi.

Yep its got a stage 2 901a crow billet cam but its a baby. You cant even pick it as cammed.

I just ask as since it put the auto in its slower off the mark(long 1st gear i know) but when you hit 60kmh it takes off like a shot which made me think the ecu is doin something to reduce the torque.

Ive got Jason from ti performance re writing the j3 chip to suit the auto so il see what happens once i get that back and in.

its more than likely just the combination of s**t 1st gear and the power range of the cam

Yeah fair enuf. Im goin to have to go diff gears and a stall i reckon.

Which should i look at first.its a daily driver but only does 50km a week. Mainly goes around town hardly ever sees the highway.

The stall would probably be more budget friendly if it doesnt kill the auto.

Cheers
