ABS Module is contained in its-self. (lower passenger guard)
All EF/EL BEM's no matter what color are the smartlock system.

EF Fairmont engine bay Loom is the same as a GLi engine bay loom providing the GLi has ABS.

So the brains for the ABS pump are part of the pump?

Yes, for both versions (early EF & late EF/EL) of the Bosch ABS unit.

I've located a DL V8 ECU and engine bay loom for $160. Damn hard to find the loom though as it seems the wreckers keep the module but chuck out anything that is attached to it. The only thing that I'll have to add is the ED TCM loom from the cabin and integrate it with the 4L dash loom I have and into the pinouts on the DL ECU.

Question: Does anyone here have information on the pinouts for the EF Fairmont 4L ECU?

Question for KiwiDazza: That list you posted, is it a list of the EF V8 pinouts?

Hmm, disregard KiwiDazza, your pinout infomation is EF V8 going from the amount of thermo fan relays. EL V8 has thermo fan pinouts from pin66 for relays 2 and 3 and pin17 for relay 1. Hopefully this is the only difference apart from the variable steering pinouts. You wouldn't have the pinouts for an EL V8 would you snap?

Banarcus, I got that info out of my workshop book that covers EF & EL. I have the ef xr8 loom fitted and the pin outs worked for that, although I didn't bother with aircon, airbags and auto level suspension.

I have the pin outs for the TCM if you would like them

Thanks again dazza and don't worry about the pinouts for the TCM as I have that little steel box well and truely covered.

I do - Didn't you say that you've got the EF/EL Ellery's. This will have enough info on I6 and V8's.

Yep, I found the very small difference between the EF-EL and that was the thermo fan change. The EL only has 2 pinouts compared to the EF's 4. I was after the speed sensitive steering pins on the EL as the ECU I've got coming is out of the DL LTD. I'll also have to swap/change the wiring for the thermo fan relays to suit the DL ECU. I think I have that covered in my manual??

Near the rear of your ellery's is all the info you require.
PIN 17: electric fan 1 (EF) 2 (EL)
PIN 42: electric fan 2 (EF)/ SSPS (EL)
PIN 46: electric fan 4 (EF)
PIN 68: electric fan 3 (EF) 1 (EL)

Actually, I have seen an EFII I6 Ghia with SSPS - not sure if it was all EFII's, but the later one's got SSPS - maybe the same with NF's also.

In this case I'd suspect they'd get the EL 3 relay electric fan setup :?: :?:

Thanks again snap. I honestly didn't look beyond the diagnostic pages in Ellery's until you posted it. Everything is there mate. Daft me again :)

And they copied the info from the ford manuals correctly :P . . . although some of the photos throughout the book are wrong.

The last set of injectors have bodgy pinouts in true Ellery's fashion. Look at the last few pinouts on the V8 pages.

I've found another issue. With my existing EECIV and TCM setup, I have PIN3 from the TCU sending a frequency pulse to the PIN5 of the EECIV to indicate that the auto gearbox is no longer in reverse. This link exists in Ellery's for the EF/EL V8 however I cannot see where this link goes on the ECU pinouts.

Is it a possibility that the EF/EL ECU doesn't need this signal to give torque truncation. What I did find was that there isn't a transmission tempreture link to ED EECIV like the later models have, so perhaps the later ECUs just need tranny temp and gear position to reduce torque?
