hey guys, my mates got an el xr6 bcm, and we think that my fairmont has killed it's bcm when i removed the dash last sunday, was just going to see if that bcm will start the car or do i need to have a fairmont one?
have tried diffrent ecu as well |

something's may not work as the fairmonts are different to xr6. Like rear power windows, climate control
Although I have a fairmont ghia bcm in my xr6 cos I have climate control and ghia body loom, and the ghia dimmmer switch . And it won't start the car, you will have to program the bcm to your ignition barrel . Did you connect up the earth on top of the dash ?

yeah i had connected the earth and i knew about the ignition thing, but after that it should start the car correct?

If you successfully program it yes it will start the car .

hey guys, got an el fairmont bcm today, left it for an hour and no charge, any ideas of what i'm missing? interiour lights work, everything lights up and works, just got smart lock flashing at me
|

i've read then and they don't help it at all, it doesn't flash rapidly but just a constant flash after 5 flashes and pause,
everything in the car works, it just won't fire |

Keep trying it. Took me a few goes and hours to get it , does it crank ?

nope nothing, not even the sound of the start trying to engage, have tried diffrent ecu as well, my mate went threw the fues and re checked them on saturday

It's the bcm , you have to keep trying to program it . You may need a ghia one , or the bcm you got is stuffed , what happened to your old one again ?

pulled the dash out to chnaged pedal boxes, then put it back in and it wasn't working, this was sunday week ago, now saturday just gone pulled the dash back out to check all the clips and put it back in yesterday and got the new bcm today

You mustn't of plugged something back in, it's strange that's bcm would s**t itself just from pulling out the dash .
Double check the cltr fuse . I know if this is blown it will act like a bcm issue .
