I just bought a new xr6 and im sure that my fule guage isn't working prop, i am getting about 400km out of the tank if i go off the guage but then it only takes like $50 to fill it up full. is this right cause it has a 68L tank so im guessin its not ........... any thoughts?

How much are you paying for your fuel?I put in $50 a week and I get 350-380 before the fuel light comes on and I would suggest that you keep a tab on how many k's you get per litre .But it sounds about right to me.Cheers Kevman oh and welcome to the site.

im paying $1.15 for fuel, and that filled it up from empty when the you need fuel warnings come up, and that takes the guage back to full. i look at my fule use and it says 8.4 ltrs used since i last filled up but the guage reeds that 3/8 of the tank has already gone and im averaging 10.4lts per 100km.

I think its pretty common knowledge that the fuel gauges in the BA/BF and I suppose subsequently FG are pretty inaccurate.

Yesterday my gauge had hit the empty mark, the trip computer going nuts because I "only had" 3km left to go, yet I only fit 58l of fuelin. So there was still around 10l in there.

Whether thats by design or just Ford being Ford is debatable. Speak to the dealer and argue it with them... Otherwise, may just have to live with it.

thanks for he feedback, i'm takin it back to the dealer on friday and see what they say. i know its not right because i was driving a ba xr6 turbo befor and it takes alot more fule from empty to fill up. it just seems to be about 20 or 30L out like i said fitting about 40L in a tank that is supose to be 68L from empty.
