Hey guys, the old man has just reciently bought an AU Fairmont seies 1 on factory dual fuel, After about a week of buying it has started playing up. At idol it runs like a dream not a problem on fuel or gas, but once it is driving about on gas when ever you let off the accelerator and start breaking the RPM drop to round 600 rpm and then the engine will stall, Changed the plugs and leads but to no avail it still stalls Driving round on petrol is fine runs like a dream, its just the gas.

Any one have any similar problems?

Oh there is a brass screw on the gas converter, my old man undid it about 2 turns and it made the problem a little better, he dont want to play round with it n fear he may stuff somthing up.

HEy, I actually had the same problem with my Ef Xr6! only thing though mine is a aftermarket conversion.

Do u use any particucular servo?

Because mine was under warantee I kept bringing it back to the mechanic & we couldn't figure out what it was for awhile, until others had the same problem & then figured out it was the type of gas!

Everyone around Bathusrt has had problem using mobil, caltex or united gas, but since the word has got around most people & all taxis around here are using BP & shell & having no problems!

I hope this is the same problem for you....

try removing the snorkle off the air box and see if the problem goes away, sometimes you need to drill a hole in the bottom of the snorkle to get rid of any positive pressure in the airbox.
Other than that, it may need the base idle set, or throttle body cleaned.
