Hi every time i reset my ecu and then reconect the battery the left hand indicator will come on when i turn the ignition to on is that a tell tail sign there is something wrong with the ecu

If you put the hazards on, then turn them off while its happening does it stop it?

hazards work fine everything else runs fine just won't start, done ecu selftest that comes up negative for problems but it just won't start and everytime i turn the key to on when reconnecting the battery it flickers the left handside indicator for about 3 or 4 flashes and then it doesnt come on after that

Well, then we're having the same problem, except Ive completely stripped the interior out of my ED and thats whats caused it because it worked before, Im leaning towards a faulty smartlock or bem module. Your fuel pump wouldnt be constantly on all the time too would it?

no my fuel pump does what it is meant to comes on then stops ready for the start up

Ok then probably not exactly the same problem. Let me know what you find. Do you have an aftermarket alarm?

Oh and youve obviousely tried tapping the dash above handbrake while cranking the car?

well while the key is in cranking position just keep holding it there while tapping the dash above handbrake, start hitting harder if it doesnt do anything. Very well could be the contact in the indicator itself but I doubt it.
