Got the tickford head done last week. Have to get the suspension fitted before I take her too far but she seems to be running fine. I wanted to get her tuned to make sure everything's set right, but I think from memory you can do too much to the Ef's unless its chipped?
Cars an EF Fairmont i6
Mods so far: AU injectors, extractors, cat back, new o2 sensor, big mouth, tickford head running off stock fuel reg and non tickford ecu. The reason I have a tickford head running off a stock reg and ecu is I needed to repair the head gasket on my old stock head and thought I may aswell drop a Tickford head on her while I was at it and if I need more then I can grab a reg and ECU and install them later on easily.
Is it worth getting a dyno tune on this setup or would it be a waste and should I just get a timing set and base idle set?

As Troy has said, not worth anything with those mods. You can't set timing on an EF as they are cam sensor, not dizzy.

Ahhhh, so why does it have a timing mark on the balancer and a timing plate?
I trust you guys 100%, so dont get me wrong in thinking I am trying to question what you both have said......... it just doesn't make sense to my dumb a** to have the marks if you can't set the timing.

SO base idle is all that can be adjusted without a j3? Hell I think I may be able to do that myself. Thanks guys. That will save me some cash. Turns out the suspension I thought would last 12 months till next tax has fell victim to the constant local road works, leaving the front upper control arms almost touching the tyres when the cars dead flat. There's a cool $1000 gone from the Navara getting rego right there. Should be done by the end of the week I hope as the Mont is up for pink slip by the 26th of this month..........
And I hate my new Tickford head. I love the stereo in the Fairmont, but I keep turning it down just to hear that cam through the exhaust. The bloke did a really good job so I am getting him to do the front/rear suspension when it arrives, shocks and springs. Got King lows ( I tried for Lovells Paul, I really did) and Munroe Gt's all round for $635 total delivered from Melbourne and the bloke who did the heads going to install the lot for me for $300.
