fuel pumps are out most of the time, but they are int he customers favor 9 times out of 10.
i know most BP sites get thier pumps re-calibrated every 6months to stop em wandering out too much

My EBII sedan has a 68 litre petrol tank and
when quoted for a LPG system, the guy told me that
a 68 litre gas tank would also be fitted...

I think he means, more fuel than the pump registers, so you're undercharged. But I doubt that is the case.

i think the fuel tank in my el is smaller than my eb cos in my eb running out of fuel at the servo i got 74 litres in it and my el the most i have put in that (same bowser pump) 66 litres and they are both doing a super fill. the computer(dash) said i had a 2 litres left in the tank

yeah - thats what i mean :P and its only ever out smallish amounts.
