is there a way to manually tune the ecu to get more performance out of the engine, and does the 95 EF GLi have a governor/ restrictor on the engine, how would you disable it?

There isnt really anything you can do with them. On other e-series with distributors the most you can do is advance the timing a little but with the EF's EDIS ignition there isnt anything you can play with yourself.

The only restrictions on the engines output that i know of are the rev limiter at 5700 odd rpm, the speed limiter at 180-200kph, and torque reduction when in reverse and during gear changes.

Yes there is. Pay $600 for a chiptorque and ask for the limiters to be removed. But why would you want to do a silly thing like that, it is there for a VERY good reason!

You will need a 2 piece tailshaft, and as I said an ECU chip or aftermarket ecu to get around the limiter.

all up a couple of grands worth of work
