There is a cop EL ECU on ebay going for $175.

I have an EL Ghia at the moment. Is it worth getting a cop ecu? I don't want to loose anything that I've got now, and I am reading on here that there is no more performance gain other then no speed limiter, harder shifts and no top gear under 65 km/h.

Thanks

Dunno - what's $175 worth to you? Personally i wouldnt pay that much for different shift patterns/no speed limiter. Altho i'd think it would have more agressive shift patterns all around.

I'll bet she guzzles changing gears like that

For agressive shifts I'm better off with a $10 shift kit I spose...and I am not really going to reach 180km/h on Sydney streets...

Although 160 is a common occurance but I don't feel safe!

the shiftkit shifts the gears harder

but the police ecu bounces of 5500rpm when shifting into gear unlike stock ecu's..

so if you want the difference, its basically an XR ecu with extra bits on it. supposedly XR computers learn much better as well.

Guys,

So ..... The EL Police ECU has NO LIMITER? or is it just raised up to 220 or something ??? Were'nt XR's limited to 220 and standard at 180?

Cheers

no limiter,

make sure its a pursuit one.. i'd get the serial number and ring ford, make sure its not a standard one someones trying to flog off as something else.

i got a vic ed 5spd pursuit puter in mine,, works well.

think its only slight changes in the fuel mapping, and no limiter for the manny.

It shifts @ 5500rpm

not after it, the police ecu's bounce on redline first where normal ones dont
