Then why wont it do brake jobbies? And all traction is fairly useless in the wet and on dirt. Why does it stop revving as soon as it looses traction...

See both my above posts!!!
Grip, and a very well designed IRS.
It cant do brake jobbies because you aren't trying hard enough.

andre, I think it has something to do with the drive-by-wire throttle, it can electronically ease the throttle in low traction situations. I've been told the capa flash can remove this. Its really stupid becasue it does f**k all to save you in the wet or gravel (like when I left funfields) so is just a pain if you wanna shred a bit of rubber in the dry. I believe if you changed the dif ratio to something higher, it would be much more achievable, assuming yours is auto, thats 1 long assed gear.

From what I have been reading in many threads, the speed limiter is there for a reason. It could be a stupid reason, it could be a good reason. Either way, it is there for a reason. I know that Data Mine removed his speedlimiter and ended up snapping a tail shaft whilst on a dyno. Could have been really bad if he was on the streets

I'm curious here ... maybe I should rephrase my question . why do you think your falcon is safe for speeds above 200 km/h.

I understand a V8 super car is built for speeds above that but I'm pretty sure yours isn't.

Andre if you want to find out how to remove it - ring Ford or a Chip place and pay for them to do it. Don't ask here, if you wipe yourself and potentially others out on the road then FordMods becomes part liable for providing the information to anyone with internet access.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen and I accept we can't stop it but we all (members and the FAG) a common responsibility to keep our modifications to our cars within the confines of the law. And while speeds in the NT above that might be legal, modding your car to get to above that limit is not.

Given that XR6 BA's are speed limited to 220kmh, and the main difference is the suspension, it should be safe. As stated above, I will only driving this fast in NT or on the track... and not wen its windy, wet etc etc

k, just took the car out to do a few little tests. Managed to hold the brake down, got the rev's up to about 3000, then the car started crawling forward, let goed the brake and the car launched with no traction loss whatsoever. If I didn't know any better, I would say the throttle was not giving it more juice when it got to a certain point. I guy at coles couldn't spin the tyres on his boss 260 ute so I doubt we would be able to. XR6T might be able to though if they were able to spool enough boost before launch. Interestingly, (and this was by pure chance), I was rolling away from my house the other day, saw my mum so put it in neutral and gave it a rev (3000 limit) to get her attention, put it into drive straight away and the tyres spun a bit, this backs up my belief that its in the drive-by-wire thats causing restrictions.

Getting the wheels painted black/ have bought some black tail lights aswell. When thats all done, week or 2 I will take some pics... With the flash tuner it revs to 6000 in neutral, maybe I should try chucking it into drive at 4000 or 5000. I reckon it will just cut it out before it launches

yeh, just be careful, not sure how healthy neutral dumping can be for the auto. Black tail lights should look shmick, can't wait to see.

I'm just gonna sit here in stunned silence, and mourn the loss of intelligence from this country.

Well if you put it in drive and take the handbrake off that may help.

Anyways, i am sorta sure the XR models have the balanced tailshafts which make them also safer for higher speeds.
