|
has anyone run aftermarket ecu in tandem with factory ecu in el v8 as i was wondering if factory ecu will still control a/c and fans and speed sensative steering if i have it still hooked up with out any engine sensors hooked up it still reads speed and ect temp any one else done this before??

The stock ECU wont work if it doesnt see any signals. You need to share them and add 2nd sensors where appropriate.

Sorry I think I misread.
It will do aircon, fans and speed sensitive steering as long as it has water temp and speed hooked up. |

I bought an EL XR8 with Haltech installed. I'm pretty sure they chopped into all the sensors, ignition and injectors, whilst everything else still ran. When it came out, I left all the fiddly stuff to someone else, so I can't tell you 100% whether they spliced into the sensors or cut them.
Maybe it would pay to keep the ECT going to the EEC as well, as Dansedgli suggested. I didn't think there was speed sensitive steering in the EL XR8, so you won't have to worry about that. Or are you running it in your car?

solved problem just supplied factory ecu with tacho output signal from MSD yay we have fan and a/c control and cruise yayay
 and dash tacho works and everything
