I have a CAPA Vortech T-Rex Fuel Pump (http://capa.com.au/vortech_fuel.htm):

I just noticed I have a rubber sleeve for it.
Should this be over the pump?
I know the factory intank fuel pump has one fitted on it. But this pump will be running as a secondary pump underneath the fire wall.
The D mounts holding it to the brackets are also insulated with rubber.

I'm guessing the sleeve is there for noise reduction purposes. Fuel pumps are noisy little buggers. It shouldn't matter if it's on or not.

I ghot told last night it's there to reduce vibrations. We decided since the D moutns for the pump are rubber covered it shouldn't be neceasry - plus the picture CAPA have of the pump installed doesn't have it over it.

I guess it would also do a secondary purpose of noise reduction too though.

I'm pleased to say though that the pump is all nice and in now.
