My brother gave me a speed alert thing, like out of a commodore, for christmas. It has to hook up to the digital speedo speed sender cable. Where is this? what is its proper name? what coulour is it? If i put the alert thing on the dash, what would be the easiest way to run the cable?

Thanks in advance

I have a copy of the wiring diagram for your instrument cluster if you want me to email it to you.

The speed alert in my Fairmont comes in handy, especially when you have the cruise set, you're ignoring the speedo and are travelling downhill. Rather hear the beep than see a speed camera flash.

Agreed. The quaestion is not WHY but HOW!!!!

Nicco, i believe the signal you are looking for is VSS (vehicle speed sensor). If its a 6cyl the VSS feeds the dash which feeds the ECU, V8 VSS feeds the dash which feeds the TCM.

You'll need the ECU and/or dash wiring diagram.

Concorde, I almost wear my speedo out i am using it so much, but when you come from a 100 to a 50 zone, your speed tends to creep up unnoticed!!

Fairmont1998, could you please email it to me so i can check it out: karting@cairnskartclub.com

4.9 EF Futura, it is a 6 cyl, do you know where i could get my hands on if Fairmont1998's diagram isnt the right one?

Thanks
