on gas the car runs and drives fine. but flick it to petrol and when crusing along it's fine but accelerate from the lights or while driving and try to accelerate to gain speed and it splutters and carries on but then sorts itself out until you try to do it again.
car in question is a MPFI EB which has a 300kpa XR6 fuel pressure regulator and a brand new fuel pump about a week ago. i reckon i'll try a fuel filter first, that hasn't been changed in 2 years. but you got any ideas?

if its ok on gas and not on pet but only ander load it could be the map or regi a number of things does it do it when you flaten it?

sometimes it does it. sometimesit doesn't.
sometimes when you flatten it, it goes fine sometimes when you flatten it, it splutters a bit then goes

it's an EB1. damn thing is so primative. lol. it won't show a code i bet. it's not a sensor problem.
O2 sensor is new, fuel pump is new, coolant temp sensor is new, fuel filter i'm changing tomorrow, maybe 10k on plugs,

but if the map sensor was cactus it'd run s**t at idle and run really rich

depends somtimes they can be slightly out of frequency at a certain position that is volts to pressure

get a workshop manual and follow the trob shooting yu will work out ev you need to now sounds like you now enough to understand the workshop man?

ah righto. i'll do the fuel filter tomorrow and see how i go. if it still happens i'll get a map sensor from the wreckers

I just put in a K&N Panel filter into my car and noticed surging at around the 2000 rev range up a hill.
I own a BA Falcon XT... Honestly, I'm just going to say it's probably the filter... |
