Hey guys,
I'm just after some advice regarding to fixing the idle problem with the WADE 1521a cam in an EL. As most people are aware, the 1521a is a b**** regards to idling. What would be the safer option to fix it, either getting the ECU recalibrated to increase the idle or just go to T.I and get a custon J3 Chip to raise the idle level?
Cheers,

Not really , j3 will be much cheaper than a aftermarket ecu .

as ef_falcon_95 said you need the chip to tune the ecu, if you buy an off the shelf chip from ti performance and tell them you are running a 1521A cam they can pretune it which will help your problem, but with any cam you will get the most out of it by buying a chip and getting the car ran on a dyno and properly tuned to suit your car,

in the mean time you can bandaid the problem by unplugging the idle control solenoid on top of the throttle body, and manualy adjusting the idle screw, and taking the throttle position sensor off, elongating the holes on the side where it screws to the throotle body and adjusting it, but with a cam that big it would definatly benefit from a full tune

I know I had one untuned , then got rid of it due to the poor drivability at low revs , great cam other wise .

Did you end up replacing it with the 977b or something similar?

Just on the off chance, do you guys know any quality places I could get it tuned properly in victoria. Or even if you know any other Fordmods members I could ask?

Never had a vernier gear . The 1521a replaced the 977b , then stock cam replaced 1521a .

Cve is a popular tuner for you Melbourne guys .
