If an EL had the radio removed by cutting the wires at the plug at the back of the radio, would the car start afterwards? I know in an EB it wouldn't.

Just a theoretic question at the moment..

Ok, lets just say that you trn the key to on, fuel pump goes, dash lights on, smartlock does its thing, all fuses good, but you turn to start and its like you have it in drive already - nothing happens at all, no cranking.
Im trying to test a motor in a wreck to see if it goes or wether to scrap it. some things have been raided off this car, (wiper and indicator switches, radio hacked out, but ive plugged in everything that needs to be plugged). all fuses are made of wire haha.
Just thought there maybe something to the cut radio wires.

Cut stereo wires have no effect on smartlock on any equiped car. If fuses and s**t are all in tact, you'll have no problem

i think you will find they do ,on my ED there is 2 yellow or maybe green wires and one of them goes to smart lock so if you cut it no start

Theoretially I used a scantool to diagnose the problem.
In reality i latched onto every relay under the bonnet and wriggled s**t out of them. It started after that.
