i heard that there is a way u can trick your ecu into advancing your timingon a ef by soldering a resistor into you coolant/air temp wire has anybody done this if so what size resistor

why not bother i run premium fuel all the time and it would give more power and better top end wich is what i am after. i heard it can be done???????

Yep MANY times!

It does crap all.
In fact, its worse as 4.0's run rich enuff.
lets face it, EF's are NON ADJUSTABLE! the knock sensor will only retard it bah....

Conclusion: do it, whats it gonna do? wash walls, waste time and run cooler. Im sure if ford could add a few extra KW's for one resistor with no side affects... they'd of done it.

if you REALLY want to advance the ignition timing on an EF, I suggest you install an EL wiring loom and a distributor type ignition.
