Yah was just checking that you saw I ordered and would be interested in the tuning pack.
What would I need to 'blend' from the tunes? I've already done the VE table and cold start I think, cant remember was a while ago now. I used your tune and the XR manual one. |

Hi all! I've just been reading this thread from start to finish and had a look at the web site, i think my brain is now full! I'm very impressed by the developments made here, good work!
I now intend to purchase one of your chips. I am doing some mods on a EF Futura as a budget club racer, most of its time will be on the track, although it is still registered. ATM, I'm fitting a cam (Wade 1673) and doing a manual conversion. It's got PH4499's, 2.5" straight through system, 3" intake with pod, engine is stock with 20 thou off the head and has std 3.08 gears for the moment (need to work out whats the best all round ratio for the tracks) So, it's pretty much the same spec as krisisdog's setup. While I'm very interested in this stuff, I'm not confident at this stage to do my own tuning, I'll need to research and learn some more first (even though I am a mechanic). Therefore, initially I will buy a preprogrammed chip. My question is, do you have an existing tune that would be suitable for this setup? Thanks for your help. Cheers, Tony |

23 pages, ugggh, my head hurts.
I'm interested in the custom tune chip for $200 (although i would love to get the kit with datalogging but dont wont to miss one tiny thing in setup and blow my engine, but if I knew how to tune a longer duration cam, Tighe 826 to be exact, and higher compression pistons I would do it myself) Question is with $200 custom chip, adjusting the fuel map would be simple by viewing what the AFR is on the dyno sheet (but is this just at WOT, how do you adjust for part throttles to my cam?) And how would you adjust the spark map?? Is this a case of getting the Cam specs and adjusting the timing from this? Like I said, i'd like to have someone with more experience tune my car, But what limitations are there with only a dyno sheet and a list of mods to get the best performance? I have to admit that saving $1300 there would be some limitations doing it this way, but can you elaborate? __ going in a different direction, (my car ef futura auto with 3.45 instead of 3.08) - If I got an Xr6 or ghia chip for $130, would the more aggressive spark/fuel help much, especially now I have the same diff as xr6? I think the only difference in cam profile (standard to xr6) is that the exhaust is open for 4/5 degrees longer. cheers. |

Hi there,
Ignition timing and part-throttle fuel maps can be guesstimated based on experience and knowledge about the combo, along with a dyno sheet. This will obviously be a bit more reserved than a full dyno tune, for safety, but one can get pretty close. The difference would depend on the individual car. A lot of people notice a big difference in an XR6 map, but there is a lot more to be had in terms of both fuel and spark, especially if you're running a warmer cam. If you're in Melbourne, you have the option of using CVE Performance to do a dyno tune, if you find the pre-programmed chip isnt solving your existing mappings' problems. Cheers, Jason

Minor update guys to let you know we havent fallen off the planet. We now support some AU V8's along with EB/ED I6 (for those who dont want to run an EL ECU) and V8s. This involved a hardware revision along with some work on the AU V8 definitions from Matthew Withey at AFF & Jaysen Anderson from FM. If you plan to use the gear on AU please let me know so I can ensure you get the correct programmer and that your ECU is supported.
We're also getting some stickers made up which will be free with any chips purchased. Cheers, Jason
