Everytime I try to start my car I have to hit the left side just underneath the steering wheel does anyone know of this problem ?? Faulty relay or something maybe ?

Sounds like a crook Body Control Module (BCM), that is the usual fix for one that's on it's way out!

Yep, that's where the BCM sits - it could be on the way out. If you have an aftermarket alarm system (eg Mongoose) that integrates with the smartlock (switches on/off with the door locks), it can cause the same symptoms.
