Hi there,
I'm not actually a Ford owner, but I was hoping someone here might be able to help me out.

I'm modifying a 69 Triumph Spitfire and this involves a light flywheel.

the flywheel is set up to work with an escort mexico mk2 pressure plate.

the escort mexico seems to be a common thing in the UK, but I'm wondering if it was called that or even sold over here?

If it was here, what was it called? Or what car has the same clutch cover bolt on pattern?

AND, is there a good source for one of these in Melbourne?

any help is much appreciated.

cheers,
Jim

When I lived in NZ, we had the Mexico, and we fitted a Mexico motor to a mates Escort-made it go harder. Try Ford dealers in NZ.

Mexico is just a 1600 Kent with larger main bearing caps.

The block numbers are: 711M

They run the same flywheel as a standard 1600.
Nonetheless you can lighten it yourself.

Later model MK2' Cortinas got them and some 1600 Escorts.

Contact Edgar Hines at Fjordfour Engineering in Mordialloc

He's got a lot of parts and a wealth of knowledge.
