I have driven a heap of them, I think xcabbi's was just a freak as they didn't go any harder than most other similar 4s.

1984 Mazda 323 5 speed with twin webbers.

best first car ever, so much more that the webbers brought, cornering was great as I was pretty heavy, only problem was the CV's snapping with front wheel stand stills.

I paid 250 from an auction, liscenced the car, immobiliser and tried to kill it, then sold it a year later for $1200. 3 weeks later it hit a light pole in the wet and was written off.

I've own a 1970-71 Ford Zodiac Mk IV back in NZ. hand me down I bought from the old man for $100. my first ever car at 17. wasn't to bad for a 2ltr V4.

1980 TE corty started of as a 2ltr then later a 4.1 cross flow then finally engineered for a 302, but ended up with a 351c. LOL, those were the day's.

Never owned a Ford 4 .....

Had a Mitsi Colt GSR, typical mitsi, burnt more oil than petrol
Also had a Sigma, was much the same really!
Oh and a *cough* Volvo 244, it was the heaviest, thirstiest car I have ever owned but it had done 450,000 and still drove like new....

1980 Escort Panno, originally had a 1.3 in (why i don't know - originally a 1600) Resprayed it, lowered it, fitted 2litro pinto, extractors etc. Ghia seats etc. Sierra 5 speed conversion

1980 escort 2 door 1600. Left body stock after previous cars flash paint job getting wrecked by car parks / trolleys / useless drivers etc. Fitted a 711m block 1600 bored 120thou , webbers, cam, valvesprings valves etc. 4.11 diff Kmac 27mm front bar, 2" lowered progressive springs, adjustable camber castor kit, RS200 dash, wheel etc. Awesome little car for just a "1600" Handled like a go-cart.

1978 Esky 2ltr 2dr Auto. Started on this one but lost interest thanks to kids so I ended up selling it before I got too serious into the build.

Had a KE TX3 turbo for a while too. Not as raw or as much fun as Esky's but still went well and easy to drive in traffic etc..
