As i said above ive got $1000 to spend

My car is a 98 AU Xr6

Performance mods so far :
Custom cold air intake
BA filter box
K&N filter
Redback cat back exhaust

What should I buy?
What will be the best bang for my buck?

I was considering these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ford-Falcon-EA-EB-ED-EF-EL-AU-Pacemaker-Comp-Header_W0QQitemZ220351171928QQihZ012QQcategoryZ130631QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
is it worth getting the comp tuned versions or are these just as good http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ford-EA-EB-ED-EF-EL-AU-Falcon-Pacemaker-Extractors_W0QQitemZ200295541573QQihZ010QQcategoryZ130631QQcmdZViewItem

I was also considering this throttle body or a ss inductions equiv http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-EF-AU-series-1-PERFORMANCE-70MM-THROTTLE-BODY_W0QQitemZ290292427036QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item290292427036&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

that throttle body would produce more power per dollar than the extractors
i thought about cams but the ones i was looking at were around the $700 mark and were going to get me about 20rwkw
is there anything else i should be considering

P.S. feel free to correct me on any info if im wrong

if its auto get new 3.9, or 4.11 diff gears fitted. Will make a more noticable change than anything else for the money.

It'll cost more than a thousand thats for sure if it were me i'd go either a cam or or diff gears if you are definately going to put in a manuel go 3.7 diff gears if 5 speed or 4.11 if 6 speed. A 6 speed will cost a fair bit more than a 5 speed. Thats up to you to decide seeing as its your cash but either way diff gears or cash

extractors AND diff gears = $1000 gone!

maybe just a ouch over, gears properly fitted about 500ish, pacies or similar, remember you need to get the cat modified to suit. if you live near an exhaust shot fit the extractors yourself and diveit to the shop, otherwise if you feel your not able to or live too far away, get them to fit it up. so close to $400 gone there, $100 service the car with good oil yourself and new plugs.

-headers and highflow cat
-cam

Can do that EASY under a grand on your own, or;
-If you get a good exhaust shop shouldnt be much to weld flanges on the cat.
-If you dont pick a cam requiring bigger than XR6 springs youll be fine, as most cams are designed to fit without the need for a vernier gear, cams are a rather quick change, my last one was a touch over 2 hours, sooo it shouldnt be two hard for a mechanic to do under your budget.

also at the risk of sounding stupid ive got a few year old unichip that my dad used on his GT he now has a flash tuner. My question is is it possible for a dyno specialist to reprogram it for the AU i6 or are they different models

if so what would be an estimate for power increase 10rwkw is it worth it for the dyno time

And yes i do realise a flash tuner would be the better option but this would be cheaper for the time being

forgot to mention most wouldnt suggest the t/body untill you have alot more work done to the motor.

on the extractors, if you can afford the tuned length version get them, sav you wanting them later and not having them.

sorry i cant help on the tuning, not my specialty

So at the moment on my list is a cam (dont know which yet) extractors and dyno time

Ive heard good things about JMM and ive found 1 second hand done 10 000kms $120 reckon itd be worth it. its a big saving over $300 which could go to a better cam/dyno time

Pacemakers, High Flow cat, larger throttle body and then a tune on a dyno. $1000 spent well!!

High Flow cats are better than modified standard cats because think about how many years/km's the original ford cat has done!!!!

Are they the race series headers if they are your exhaust will need a bit of massageing to get all aligned cause there really long but either way there a good buy for that price.
Jaysen told me that because of the gay rocker gear setup you get coil bind at 580 lift so to be on the safe side id sit around 500 maybe 520 max but if the budget will allow for valve springs get em i cant say what a cam with that sorta lift would be like on fuel cause i got a stock cam but it'd sound good
