well I finally booked in to get a 2.5" exhaust

Its a custom bent one from same place as I got my eb done it. They custom bend all there exhausts themselves so its not lukey or anything like that, but my eb ended up really loud and a good power gain to so I have some high expectations. Besides, I find for the price, Lukey are pretty over-rated, the all do pretty much the same. Ive found its the extractors u cant go cheap with.

So ill post an audio/video tomorrow, im booked in for 9am so probly around 1 or 2 in the avo

*UPDATE* well got it done. Cat back with one muffler and no resonator

i think that 'rushed' means about epa, because he is running a 2.5" straight pip, no muffler & no resonator... instant defect.. and if he gets caught in the road side test... he will get a big fine on the spot and a defect (I think its lenient if you get pulled over randomly by a cop, so he will get a defect to clean and no fine.. cause most cops don't know anything about cars, as long as they know where the gas and brake pedal is, they have a job :P)

Custom bend is another word for crudey press bends. You would of been better off getting off shelf Lukey or Redback set up.

So you can sit in a car and are capable of telling how it compares to others almost the same? A good gift you have there...

But yeah at the end of the day it's not going to make a difference, personally I have my own exhausts made up now days out of marine grade stainless and Lukey mufflers, as few bends as possible (none in the case of my Valiant) and then just a drop tip in front of the diff.

well mine isnt pressbent.

and for epa, i have one muffler but its way over legal, the problem is that the exhaust only has one join at the cat, and is one paice from there to the tip. so removing it is hard. but havnt had a problem from the epa in about a year so all is good.

I don't think there's any shops with mandrel benders in tassie. At least, a year ago there wasn't. :(

I highly doubt it. Have you seen the price of mandrell benders? The average exhaust joint wouldn't buy one. 2 reasons, a. the price, and b. they can just get systems already bent ordered in (i.e. lukey or redback), and the majority of exhausts they sell are replacement factory ones which can just be press bent. They can also just buy the mandrel bent peices of pipe and weld them together. But yes mandrell bending is the way to go.

what sort of muffler did they use, sounds a bit like a straight through or dog-leg muffler.

sounds really good, nice deep throaty note.

cheers............
