not sure where this post was supposed to go so i stuck it here!

Just wondering if anybody has fitted a 4.1 250 Xflow into an escort, can it be done? because i am getting one for free soon minus the engine, but i have an old xe 250 xflow laying around, just wondering what it would take to make it happen???

There was a yellow M11 Panelvan at the nats in Canberra about 4 years ago with the 265cu Chrysler mtr. The long 6 was intruding into the cabin area.
It might be easier fitting a V8 than the 6.
Really your best bet would be fitting some of the late jap turbo mtrs or turbo the pinto 2 ltr with the cosworth type head. A guy at work has the 2ltr twin cam out of the Fiats in his MK1 2 dr that he uses for circut racing.

the 2L pinto is a great engine with boost even if you keep the 8 valve head. it's not uncommon to get over 400hp.

i'd much rather see a ford with a ford engine. if you are chacing power got with a cosworth YB or BDA or BDG engine
the BDT was also realise from the factory with upwards of 500hp in the RS200

The 2.6 Mazda 12 valve with 5 peed box is a torque conversion..Using the Ford rocker covers from Courier....

You could use the 2.4 litre 4 from the corsair ghias and nissan pintaras. Its a torquey, responsive beast that can rev out to just under 7000rpm in stock trim.

when if you start ont he 2L pinto motor give me a pm. I've been playing with them for years and have a few tricks.

one thing though the stock rods should not be taken past 6500RPM or you'll end up with some bits of rod to use as paper wieghts.
cranks are good for as much as you can give them. there are only a few cams in australia that will let you find the limmits. think 9000RPM plus.

if you want some thing really stupid i can get you cam that will make from 9000rpm up to 1100RPM and you'll need a pair of 50mm webers but thats not going to be much of a street engine

i'd also be willing to port one of my spare heads and suply a head/cam package. just need to let me know who much power you want
