great minds think alike,go to my build page on THE BLACK TAXI and in the pictures you will see i have the manifold for the ohc motor with a 600 dp on it. mmmmm same idea different engine

with e series bottom end i guess it would be easier to mod sump using the cross flow sump as a guide they are both tin and would be cheapest to do. very much so. you will still need to get a cortina pickup and no.4 maincap for the pickup as the bowl faces rearwards

What mounts maybe ute? you'll have to make all 3 of them yourself. i've heard of people redrilling the xflow mounts to fit a 4.0L but never seen it. how i made mine is

will a t5 cable set up work with the single rail pedal assembly? use the original T5 cable as the cortina clutch mounts on the driver's side of the bellhousing. i just modified the the top of my clutch pedal to use the bracket from a xf clutch cable.

can a t5 take a single rail speedo cable? yep

tail shaft yoke the same? yep, the tailshaft is a poofteenth too short. does the job intitially though

it looks like some of the paccies and other headers end fairly high up maybe it would avoid custom headers ? i made my first set by adapting xd falcon extractors to suit a header plate i had cut out.

is the ohc motor any taller then the cross flow? yep

any other ideas about this conversion?if you wanna build yourself a race car then use the 250xflow cos the 4.0L has a fairly restrictive valve train when it comes to how aggressive a cam u can run. it's not a weekend conversion but it's unique. my ohc even in stock form used to have my 302 windsor tc for breakfast. V8's are that common u can buy an off-the-shelf conversion kit. i definitely wouldnt go to the trouble of fitting an ohc in and then using a carby - u might as well focus that energy into a xflow

probably go the carby route as it will be more a thrasher then a streeter but maybe still sensible in the engineering department. maybe lpg ?lpg will save u running fuel lines, return line and a fuel pump.

i am also not to sure on the gearbox lengthsengine is longer but not by much. T5 overall is shorter by a poofteenth but the shifter sits further back. u can either buy a million dollar mustang extension housing for it or modify the floor pan to suit

, and even maybe wich dizzy to use with a MSD maybe the ea single point would work as a good trigger or maybe just stick to a 250 crossflow dizzy and do the usuall mods.u can usea dizzy out of a xd/xe by turning using the ea gear and flipping it upside down. otherwise is you're gonna inject it, leave in the original.

Interesting thread guys. My best mate is toying with the idea of a TE corty with a 4.0 OHC engine & 4speed auto, probably run it on straight gas research. I know i've seen it done before, but i really don't know how much work it will be, probably a fair bit i'd assume.

Anyway, until he actually get's the car to start working on, it's all a pipe dream, but when he gets the corty i'll be measuring up the engine bay & trying to work out how hard / easy it's going to be.
