Hey all, i have a 91 EB Fairmont that wont go, it has spark, its getting petrol, plugs and leads seem okay, i drained the petrol and put some fresh stuff in (old stuff was a bit stale), and it still wont start, it cranks but wont fire but it ran and drove fine the other day but only seemed to not start when it stalled after being in gear (5 speed manual) but now theres nothing at all, the battery is fine but when it cranks the RPM is on 0 and the petrol gauge says empty and the speedo blanks out and half flashes like its loosing power or something, i want to get it going so i can sell it so dont want to spend to much money on it, i just cant figure it out. can anyone help?

check your earth wires and the 2 relays under the header tank behind the battery

2 wires that run from the positive on the battery to a square plug still close to the battery.
the wires are designed to fail like a fuse would protecting the rest of the wiring harness but are now 22-23 years old. i also have a 91 eb fairmont with t5 conversion, how was yours converted or is yours the sports dash with factory t5? |

Oh okay i would have to check them properly now that i know how they fail.
My dash has a half electronic cluster and not sure if the 5 speed is a stock or converted, i only bought it a week a go but it could possibly be converted just not sure yet |

if you have digital door ajar and speedometer then it will have been converted, they are originally 4 speed btr automatic with auto computer mounted above where the clutch pedal is now.
they are virtually a short wheel base fairlaine. |

is now for sale, still not going but reckon its the distributor, coil or fuel pump, or main fuses just dont have the time for it.
$520, 5 speed, was running great, interior aint to bad, body is pretty straight. all windows and that work. located in ballarat. send me your email if you want pics or might try and put some up here if needed |
