Head, rods and pistons can be used (they are different but fit).

sump and crank do not.

i dont know why anyone would do this on a road car, if your refering to the 4.0l in a xf at the start of this sticky it is just a guide on problems you may encounter (in speedway carbys are more practical).
stockstandard can you edit and remove the 4.0l into x-series part of the sticky, its better to remove it an wait untill you do your write up on your 4.0l into x-series road conversion when its up and running :)

Anyone got suggestions as to where would be the best type of place to take my AU sump to get modified to fit an EF?

I'd suggest taking it to a mate's house that has an angle grinder and a welder hehehehe

At the start of the thread you forgot all about the AU ticky motors, in particular the AU VCT.

Got a question, Dunno if it is covered here but i didn't read every single post...

Can i use the EF-EL intake manifold on my 4l ed xr motor... would it make any difference

Do a search for BBM conversion or BBM.. it can be done. A few people have done it.

the engine looks really low in the bay, would have thought he'd get it to fit. those b series engines are just that little bit too high i would have thought

how do dry sumps work anyway? i assume he's got a reserve placed somewhere else in the engine bay?

If i remember, Ford Australia sent EA's to South Africa that were fitted with the same carbys as XF's and the EB 1 too, I think.

they were throttle body injected mate. two "injectors" controlled electronically. very primative but it works. it was standard on gl's to eb I but for some small amount of money you could option multipoint fuel injection.
