Why do people still start their engine, redline it, then shut it off before the revs have even dropped...

Sounds alright in the cabin but i think i would install another mufflers 2 get it abit more quiter.

Did you notice decent gains when u fitted all your exhaust?

krisisdog

Yeh they look like it but i prefer the 02 sensor at the end as i think it may work better.

On the website it dosent say if its a 1 muffler & 1 resonator setup but i guess it may be.

But i would still like it to be quiter.

You could do an EA set up with a 2.5" system then. I think the EA's had 2 mufflers before the diff and then one after the diff, that should quieten down the noise a bit more...not sure if it would restrict exhaust flow though.

phong =P~

I don't get why your so bent up on having it so quiet, yet you still want flow.

My car certainly IS NOT quite when i'm on the pedal, yet it isn't loud at all when cruising along at low throttle, eg: at 100.

The thing is, you can't enhance power/flow all that much without creating more noise. While you can have an exhaust that will still be kind of quite and flow a little better (and i mean a little), its not going to be a worthwhile gain, espically seeing that you'll have to shell out for the extra muffler/res or what ever you end up with.

IU reckon you should either man up and put a system on it that'll do its job, or leave/replace the stock exhaust on it. Mine is a 2.5 straight through, i still have yet to fit the extractors, but its not that loud when cruising.

Andrew.

One thing that helped me keep the volume down on my exhaust was the use of the stock cat rather than a hi-flow unit. The stock one is still 2 1/4" so not a bad diameter, and the increase in exhaust speed through that narrower section helped eliminate that droning noise that many cars get at cruising speeds.

Why not?

noise doesn't = power. Its very easy to build a system that will be both quiet and has very good flow.
the reason it's not common is because most people think like you. IE: it has to be loud to make power.

you're a d***head

i read it just fine the first time. you're still wrong the second time.

you can if, if you wanted to, build a system that marginly louder then stock (what he is after) that out flows and out performs ANY of the bolt on 2.5inch system you can buy.

settle down dude you'll have a heart attack.
