Anyone know where the air con thermostat switch is hidden on an EL?
And what it looks like etc.
I know it is behind glove box on the EA but can't find where it is on my EL.

It's in the same place - you'll just see the connector plug on the RH side.

Doesn't matter, both run a small black 'bulb' with two wires into it.
You may find the EA one might be a long alloy tube that goes into what looks like a adjuster.

So why do you ask ??????

Reason for asking is,
A/C stopped working (EL GLi) but sometimes worked for a short time but not very cold.
Had A/C regassed and checked for leaks etc
Worked great on way home only a few k's
Stopped working that night but was ok next day but not real cold.
TX valve out in engine bay shows frost on the the pipe on the evaporator side so I assume it has plenty of gas.
Just thought it may be a crook thermo switch as it has stopped working a couple of times now but comes good again after it has had a bit of a spell.
Reason for thinking that it might be the thermo switch is,
The EA's A/C stopped once and after checking all the other switches and finally locating thermo switch found it had a bad set of contact points in it.
If I can locate the switch in the EL I could probably replace it to see if that cures it.

Fair enough - I've got similar with the XH.
You can plug your replacement evap temp sensor into the plug and leave it dangle in the glovebox area, as it won't get too cold, your compressor clutch should operate for longer.
To replace you need to cut a hole in the heaterbox, so it pays to make sure.
