There is a door in your ducting that changes over from heater to AC.
Is this travelling all the way? If not could there be heat from the heater coming through increasing the temp of the air discharged out of the system.

My EF has been poor for a few summer and that made me think this was possible, as with the AC off the air became rather warm quickly.

I would end up with the AC stopping to work and a hotter than normal running temp on the gauge but never in the red.

I now just thing it needs a re-gas.

PS the radiator, pump, thermostate, hoses and coolant have all been replaced as I thought the ECM was seeing the temp rise and it was shutting off the AC.

I will know better after the re-gas soon.

Cheers

I just had a similar problem. It ended up being corroded relays (from a d**k battery) near the battery. Had them replaced. Are you actually losing gas?

think it is losing gas as it had been re-gassed twice in just over a year but pressure test didnt show a leak - whats with the relays near the battery?

One of them wasn't working (not sure which one) due to corrosion and the aircond technician replaced it. Not exactly sure where it is; just goin by what the fella said.

i heard they just take ages to cool down in these cars, my ef xr8 takes a fair while. my old man said something about it to me, its something to do with the setup of car air cons in mid 90's onwards cars

I HAD MY EF REGASSED TWO WEEKS AGO BECAUSE IT HAS A LEAK.THE TECHO USED A HAND HELD GAS DETECTOR FROM GERMANY AND SHOWED ME THAT IT WAS LEAKING FROM THE HOSE BETWEEN THE INLET MANIFOLD AND THE AIRBOX WHICH HAS GOODYEAR WRITTEN ON IT.THE HOSE RUBBER IS POROUS ALLOWING THE GAS TO ESCAPE!!. HE QUOTED $150 FOR NEW TYPE HOSE,O RINGS , REGAS AND LEAK TEST.

SO I RECKON THIS WOULD BE COMMON TO ALL FALCONS
