The engine is very smooth and quiet. Just like the EL motor is smoother than the EB, the AU is smoother and quieter than the EL.

The bottom end and particularly top end performance with my minor mods is very nice. The exhaust note at idle sounds similar but a tad more refined than with the EB motor.

Fuel consumption so far on petrol at a steady 100km/h over undulating hills for 95% of the time is 9L/100km. I reckon that's bloody good. My 1985 model mazda 626 hatch with a 2.0L motor, 5spd manual, good aerodynamics and weighing 1080kg used about the same fuel, and wasn't bad for such a car.

There is an occasional hesitation when running on petrol, i can't think what it is.

I need to sort out the lpg, and further mods of course.

I'm really liking the car.

I modified and fitted the rear boge shocks off my XF ute wreck, and they are working nicely with the monroe GT gas fronts. It gets seriously floaty at 160km/h, but i don't travel at that speed so it doesn't matter.
