Hi Fellas,
I have an AU, which is making some funny front wheel bearing noises. I've been quoted $185/side for the front wheel bearing hub assembly, and Ford is probably even more expensive. You can get the same thing for around $60/side on ebay. My question is, has anyone purchased and used these cheaper ebay items? Are they ok or dodgy? Some come with 3yr warranties. With a 3 yr warranty its far cheaper that what you were quoted which they probarbly use the same parts as sold on ebay.

Hey mate there are some crap bearings out there i have seen a few i cant ID them they dont even have a manufacturer or country of origin......if you are close to brissy you can get timken ones from RIGHT-SPARES in moorooka they are $135 i have some new ones also that i dont need they are also timken brand i have them posted in the for sale section.

but with 3 yr warranty you could just keep taking them back! sounds ok as long as they give you a new one.... or maybe they hope you get sick of taking them out and sending them away for an exchange

Thanks for those responses fellas. Autofast2 - the timken bearings you refer to - I assume you're talking about the full hub assembly which is required for AU onwards? I'll check out the for sale section if so.

Autofast - I checked your ad but couldn't see bearings...only tailights, intake snorkels, etc.
