hey
i just got a key cut for my el cost 35 buck that inclued the cost of the key starts fin. then i took my au key
to a different lock smith and he wants 130 becuase the key has a chip in it WTF i know my commodore has a chip
but AU flcon gli?? is this true

yes, if its an au2 it has a chip in the key..

Spewing. I had to get a new AU1 and was only $30 8-)

Out of curiousity, is it possible to get copies of newer falcon keys made without the chip/electronics in them (to unlock the door, don't need to start the car)? I surf and would rather have a key on me than hidden.

yep, you can get it cut to an e series key, it will open the door, it will turn the ignition but wont start the car...
