I have a 2002 A U that is only getting spark on four cylinders and I have done
all the basics ie ; replaced leads ,plugs, coil pack, is there anyone who has had a similar problem and has found a mechanic who actually fixed the problem, a mechanic that is familiar with this situation and can fix it without hundreds of dollars spent to diagnose the problem first. I live in south east suberbs ie Frankston but would be happy to travel to the right mechanic.

Is the replacement coilack new? If not it could be faulty as well.

Check the plug that goes into the coilpack and make sure that none of the pins are damaged.

If all that is good, then it could be a faulty ECU.

If it was doing it with both the old and new coilpacks, it must be the spark driver in the ECU, or possibly the wiring in between ECU and coilpack.

To all you gents who have replied in regard to my au which is misfiring
thankyou so much for taking the time to respond to my problem it is very kind of you to do so and I
appreciate your doing so, i;m sure you have better things to do. At this stage I have tested the
contacts in the plug which plugs into the coil pack from the E.C.U. only one contact registers any voltage with a multimeter so it seems likely to be wireing from ecu to coil pack or E.C.U. itself.Am going
to try another E.C.U. As the prospect of changing or traceing the fault in the wireing is next to
impossible.

thanks again for your advice iaian mckee
