The EL hybrid has the same head as the AU and same setup, http://autofix.com.au/blog/el-falcon-hy ... aft-timing

with cyl 1 at tdc the yellow marks land on the triangle which should be just left of the top, and there is also a line in the wheel and that should be 3 degrees above the rocker gasket face.

take your time with it and check the timing by hand with the spark plugs out...i learnt the hard way.

Exactly my engine is the later version after the hy brid last of the Au six cylinders. The problem is my au wshop manual is showing the hybrid timing how the crank sprocket and idler gear markings line up infront of eachother. When my engine is on tdc the crank sprocket marking is somewhere to the left and when lining up the yellow marks on the chain the idler is showing somewhere towards the right of the engine and the two yellow marks on the top cam gear are near 11 o clock.

I know they come with a coil pack but obviously in place of the dizzy there is a sprocket which is for the oil pump and a sensor on the timing cover which tells the ecm when the motor is on tdc number 1,Anyway cheers for the help ill speak to my tafe teacher today that worked for ford.
