my understanding is NO


as far as i know because of the two differant door locking systems ie smartlock/smartshield



ooops!!


if your putting the AU1 motor in a AU2 then you will need to change inlet [not sure what part] coz there are a coupla differances - thats all i know

Stick the AUI engine in and use the AUII Coil. I think that the MAP sensor is also different as well but don't quote me on that. All else should bolt up with no issues. You will need to use the AUII Alternator as well, AUI & AUII/III/BA are different alternators.

AU BBM upper is different to the EF/EL, throttle body also has different TPS.

So I need to change map sensor, tps,alternator, coil pack and bbm and should be plug and play yeah can anyone else confirm as I plan on doing this weekend and really cannot afford any unexpected delays and may be a silly question but what is and where is bbm is it other sensor near tps cheers for replys

You don't need to change the BBM or the TPS, that was a reference to the difference between AU & EF/EL.

And if you don't know what or where a BBM is then don't try an engine change. BBM is the Broad Band Manifold.

As I said probably a silly question said like that I know exactly what it is and where never used abbreviation be for that's all have done plenty of motor changes just not from series one to series 2 but cheers for info will post on how all go's

Grab a workshop Manual for that series, they are worth every cent. Max Ellerys do a good one for the AU.
