Got and fitted an Aunger CAI, and the thing is definately huge compared to the Tickford AU one, the actual mouth is about twice the size (how much of that is usable I don't know as I reckon the bonnet would sit ontop and block the top of it), but the actual pipe and where it goes intot he air box is around 1 and a half inchs larger! You have to cut quiet a chunk out of your air box.

But in all seriousness, these really are a cheap peice of rip off s**t in there construction, the thinest plastic they could find I reckon! Piss poor mounting for the larger coupling that you attach to your air box, only two screws to hold it in place, really should be 4 so it sits firm and flush all around (I sealed it with silicone for some reason, suggested it in the instructions). And there's a lip all around the mouth which would be detrimental to air flow, I took to that with a file.

As for the actual difference on the car, dunno couse can't drive my car yet... But I'm not expecting anything.

Anyways, I dunno what they cost, but if your paying more than $100.00 for these things then your wasting your money in my opinion, just not worth it.

how come you dont know what they cost? apparently they are quiet expensive... and yes, ive looked at one off the shelf at a repco store... the "walls" of the snorkel are about as thick as the plastic used to make maccas straws... so i stuck with my "Tickford" snorkel....

yeah there a couple hundred retail I believe, something like that, maybe $250.00ish or so from memory.
And your right, they are probably made from the same company that makes macas straws. It's really thing and really rigid plastic, so I can forsee it cracking very easily! It's sad really, that a. they charge such extrodinary amount for so little, b. that there so poxy with the plastic. I mean Aunger make all those bonnet and headlight protectors and weathershields, there fairly thick, why didn't they just make the snorkels decent too (all of the ones they make are thin like this).

I've got one on my AU, it was free so i didn't complain about it.
To be honest i didn't notice any difference, and that's on a V8!
It's a very flexible plastic, much like they're old Louvres.

yeah i have seen some of these and they do look thin and poxy... i wouldnt spend any money on a snorkel... if you want more air, cut one up (standard) and fibreglass it so that you mount it upside down facing underneath the car, the "new" direction into the airbox in a new hole beside the factory inlet hole.

a lil confusing to write but basically one goes up (stock) and the other faces down and modified to flow into the air box.

this way you have double the air and it will (im my opinion) flow more as there are 2 scoops

the i6 head can only take in what it can during intake stroke, even with the AU tickford snorkle. nothing more!
