Can anyone tell me what a stock ba 6 cyl falcon redlines at seem as though they have no redline on the tacho? I know my el used to pull hard right to the 5500redline on the tacho but the ba has none. What should it rev to?

Its torque spread is extremely generous across the entire operating range and is lifted to 6000rpm, well in excess of its predecessor.

To make double sure i took a quote from autoweb.com.au, but the redline for the BA inline 6 is 6000rpm.

I know about the limiter in neutral, thats so you cant pull 5000rpm then pull it into drive. I just wanted to know what it would rev to before fuel cut. Does anyone know why they did away with the redline ?

Ford advertises the cutout at 5.8 so they'd probably know.
Mine cuts out at 5.8 on the dyno so.

Dude, i checked my xr6Turbo by reving the car in neutral, hold the A pedal flat till you see the needle come back while you have your A pedal down.

the limiter kicks in at about 5.8 but its actual redline is 6, but you obviously need to flash your ECU if you want to get that extra 200rpm.

There is no used for you car to rev to 6 6500 if there is no torque/pwoer the your just wasting time and revs..

If I remember correctly, in normal driving it will shift at 5,500, but in performance mode (for "spirited" driving) it will go all the way to redline, which I think is 6,800. I haven't really tried it in my BA Futura, but according to the owner's manual, that's what it does. Interestingly, even in normal driving mode, it may take it all the way to redline if you plant your foot on the floor, but that depends how you drive it, as ford's autos adapt to how you drive the car for optimum operation. They call it adaptive mode, which is just normal Drive.
