If you have a towbar check the trailer plug wiring on it for damage and broken wires.
Also check in the boot as some thing may of pinched the Brake wires.
Have you added anything extra to your car lately?
Please do not place anything apart from the proper rated fuse into your fuse holder.
If your car does have a problem it could void your warrenty and Insurance.

Have you checked the bulbs one could have blown and bridged the bulb internally.
