I was hoping someone could clarify something for me.

I read on a forum that the BA DOHC six (na form) was lighter than the AU SOHC. Is this true?

I assumed with its larger head and dual cams it would be heavier but apparently due to the hollow cams and a few other bits, it is lighter. Thoughts?

be close , i think it would be heavier though

even if the cams are hollow, there is 2 of them, also more valve train gear too

It seems there is some truth. I have read no aux shaft, single row timing chain, alloy cams and engine mounts and blocks cast with a new method to reduce weight but increase tortional strength. Pity no one has weighed the pair.
