Hi thrillseekers, I am in the market for a new chariot, and I think I will settle on the newest used FG I can find, probably EcoLPi

Now, what I would like, is a bit of a rundown on the problems that have cropped up with the BA to FG's, and what fixes there are. For example, I understand there is a problem with the tranny cooler, so I can anticipate replacing that asap, if it hasn't already been done. I also believe there can be a problem with the ignition lock rotating in the housing, but I'm not sure of the fix. And the brake booster rod adjustment, was that fixed after the BA problems?

So, if anybody has any info, I would really like to hear it.

Cheers

usual stuff i've found in the way of issues with fg:

glovebox lid warps and doesn't seal properly
centre display of instrument cluster fades out when there is hot cabin temps
lots of electrical gremlins if low charged battery or battery with underpowered cca installed
centre console transmission surround warps over time and doesn't sit right
stitching on seat coverings quite fragile in comparison to earlier falcons
leather steering wheel creates wear patches quicker than older falcons
earlier fg falcons need a bluetooth update to run iphone 5

Hmmmmm..... interesting. thanks for that phatba.

I am actually tossing up between a Commode sportwagon and the Ford. I lean towards the Ford because I like the in-line six. Also the Falcon Ecolpi has more grunt than the Commodore 3.6

I guess I'm just gonna have to toss a coin :?
