around 1500kg.. but yes... would be pretty quick.
i reckon 12's would be achievable with an N/A BA motor in an EB.

actually me ed weighs 1600kgs
i dont know about 12 second over the 1/4 lol...
i think 12s is a bit overboard..
remember the ba n/a has only 180/185kw compared to an eb/ed xr6,s 161kw..
i dont think 20kw is going to take 3 seconds of your 1/4 mile time..

maybe the ba xr6t might get you into the 12 seconds??

True but a BA engine can be tuned to make more than 180kw very easy.

Where did i say 'Stock BA Motor'

the fact is, a BA motor has more potential then the SOHC for bigger power figfures N/A.

keeping in mind there are SOHC EA-EL's running mid 13's, i have no doubt there is room for a DOHC powered EA-EL to get into the 12's.

that is true. but i was refering to the fitment of a std second hand ba engine into a e series ..
i dont think for $6800 your going to drive in and drive out with a 12 second car.?

and no offence guys i love the idea of this conversion..
if it was cheaper i would have done it by now
but $6800 is a lot of cash just to get a ba twincam in and running..
imo if that $6800 was spent on an e series or au 4.0l it would out perform a std ba donk buy a s**t load...

When I found this thread i emailed streetfords with the link, telling them they should feature it. I got a response from Sam Hollier (Production Editor), saying thanks for the heads up and they were interested. Cant wait to see it.

Id be interested in a BF turbo conversion into a EL XR6.

I thibk you should do a quote based on supply engine & whatever else is needed to get the engine in the car wired up & have an extra of 4 speed or 6 speed auto & Manuel transmissions on top. So then at least if a customer was to drop off the car u can offer a drive away package as you can send the tail sharft away to modify and get it all installed.

Quotes really need to be on each car. different people want different combos and finishing to different levels. some people will install themselves. some want factory intercooler some aftermarket.
I think Owens prices are a bit of a guide but a email and follow up phone call is really required.

So this thing will run as it does in a BA twin cam timing and all, if so sweet and i'll be keen in a few months. An EF 5 speed tranny will adapt to the BA engine?

Yeah it will run like in a BA, The tranny will bolt up only at the top the 2 bottom hole dont line up, But you can use a AU bellhousing to overcome
this problem.
Cheers Owen.

how about on fordmods NOW!

It's good to see this conversion is getting more recognized and becoming a lot easier.
