after seeing that car - with the engine, and the seats, and the wheels.. two things come to mind -

1 ) just buy a BA/BF??

and 2 ) That's pretty f**k awesome... respect.

Cheers

No its not a turbo engine but it will be in a couple of week. We wanted to
get the engine in the car and running before we boosted it. Its the old saying of crawl before you walk. As for the seats there from a ba tornato.
If you want to know any info on the conversion im happy to help.
Owen.

A few questions out of curiosity... What are you doing about the missing bolts in the gearbox? Is that good enough? What's involved with setting up the electonic throttle? Will my e-series pacemakers line up if i get the bolt holes slotted? Would the abs in an el complicate things? Is there any way to lower the engine to avoid removing bonnet supports?
Sorry, that's actually a lot of questions.

we are waiting for a AU manual bellhousing, this will fix the problem.
It isnt good enugh but it will do for now.

The BF Accel pedal was a fairly simple bolt in with a few brackets and the auto sparky just wired it up. only a few wires for it.

no they are totally different
ab_futura wrote:

it shouldnt be to hard , hardest part on the EL is the speedo i think.

we are working on that at the moment, a quick modification the the engine mounts should lower the engine 10 - 15mm
this will hapen over the next few days

yes it does, would be one of the fastest EB's around. much better than a V8 conversion. And since Owen has done it all himself the final bill is under $5k

the whole car is a real credit to Owen

the oil pump/pickup is further forward on the BA motor so you cant easily modify the sump like an AU motor
