dont know how many people have done a cam on a ba yet

But i know someone has done a twin throttle body setup for a ba 6

JMM have cam packages for the BA and have ran some pretty good quarters. 13.8 is the best I've seen from an NA BA with the DEV3 package. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. :D

Would LOVE to see some pics of that twin throttle set up! Do you know if there was much of a gain from it?

i hear with the stractors, zorst filter and box and snorkle they put out ~175 - 180. at the wheels.

not shabby when you think the best an e series could do was 157 new at the firewall

yeah but take into consideration the weight of a BA over an E series.

Take a look at smileys BA. 180rwkw, best he could manage at the drags was a 15.1 i think.

I made 131rwkw and got a 15.3. As someones said before, 180rwkw in a BA is roughly on par with 140rwkw in an E series.

Mathematically (which I f**k hate by the way  ) :

180rwkw in a BA = 9.2kw per kg

You would need around 165rwkw to match that in an E-series.

And yes. I am a smart C***

yeah i am looking to try push her up to 200 at the wheels but there will be a bit of work to to befor i get those numbers going on after those enital mods what do you guys think would be the next best thing? cams? head work?

haven't heard of the heads done yet. all b series barra cams are a bit of a b**ch with the vvt.

go for a full exhaust (headers cat zorst), filter and box upgrade, and first stage ecu chip and get a dyno before and after.

failing the 200 then, maybe go forged cut down pistons? alloy tail shaft? sort of run of of options. i wouldn't go a cam, from what i hear its expensive, hard to put in and has a bit of an x factor about it.

maybe a port and polish will get you there. actually, if your up for a challenge, an active zorst from just before or just after the cat to the back tail pipe would be a serious unrestricted advantage. make it open at WOT plus a great sound

Mate to get 200 rwkw out of your xr6 na

You have to go for Extractors&exhaust ,Cams, capa flash tune, jmm air intake and you should get around 190 rwkw in a auto ba na.

My old Ba xt auto was running these mods and i produced 198rwkw
I had a full jmm exhaust system, nizpro cams, capa flash tune box,jmm hi flow air intake, jmm spark plugs.

I ran a 14.1 at heathcote on street tyres stereo and spare tyre still in the car so i guess if had have prepped the car a 13.9 would have been about on the money.

What i have been hearing about smiley's car mate with 180rwkw his car should be running mid 14's easy i think his car is more like around 160rwkw.

Good luck mate with trying to achieve 200rwkw it can be done with some bolt on mods and around 3,500 cash go to jim mock motorsport they are expensive but they have down hundreds of hours of testing and dyno work to prove there dev kits are the rel deal.

I would go for a 4.11 LSD before cams, also underdrives and definately a flash tuner with custom tuning is the only way to get rid of the torque control and get the maximum from your mods. I bought crow stage 2 cams cheap with some BF XR6T valve springs which I will be putting in soon. I want the 4.11 LSD first though. Moving house in a couple weeks, so I am waiting till after then before either gets done.

If you have done the Headers, exhaust, CAI and the flasher with a custom tune, then there are heaps more possibilities for you... If you're going for a cam, remember to upgrade the valves and springs too...
Crow Cams are doing packagesa so you can give them a bell...
Personally I reckon you should go for a 4.11 LSD and then get the flash and custom tune done.... then opf course you could go down the bolt on path and turbo or supercharge her, I would love to go a supercharger on mine, but I'm looking at selling her soon and going for an XR8 Ute and then go nuts on the mods - In the words of Tim Allen - more power Argh Argh argh...

You would probably be better off getting the xr6T snorkle and and typhoon lower intake, one of the best bang for your buck mods you can do.
