How come the standard BA has a 75MM TB and the XR6 has 70MM?

it'd be more of a step sideways then an upgrade

so must mean it'll be good then, cos yeah someone makes one that big.

by the time your engine is making enough power to NEED a 75mm TB the entire intake manifold will be the restriction anyway.

the step sideways bit was the advice. and in no way sarcastic.

you just need to realise that just because someone makes it and calls it an upgrade, doesn't mean it realy is an upgrade. goes for everything not just the TB

if a stock/ basicly stock engine needed a TB that big, Ford would have put it there, considering they had access to a 75mm version.

Old thread but
If going to 75mm is really a sideways step wtf did ford bother going from 64 to 70mm for the 4l?
And then 72mm in the territory...
I really don't think going to 75mm is that big a deal but you would want cams to make the most of it.
There would be little to no benefit on a standard engine.
