I wasnt sure where else to put this so i thought i would just try here.

Picked up my 2003 BA xrt this morning and all was good until i went down to the carpark to show my mate.

First thing i notice was that the car would not unlock with the remote. Ok so after a few minutes of thinking "will the key set the alarm off or not" i use the key to unlock the car and start it up. All good . . . except hang on, why is the dash lit up? why is the screen in my ICC darkened out like its night time,. I check the lights, not on. So i get out of the car, the park lights are on. Check the lights again, not actually turned on. At this point im thinking what the hell? When i turned the car off, the in dash lights and park lights flash 14 times and then the car is off and all appears fine.

Any ideas?

Got my wife to take the car to ford while I was at work. It appears that the remote for the central locking was stuffed and that was causing all the issues. Seems weird, but who knows with electronics these days. Anyway, all appears to be normal again.

Car is great, i love it. Nice to drive, bit of power, very clean looking. Exactly what i wanted.

Not sure if giving a plug to a dealership is against posting rules but I would highly recommend the sales staff at Etheridge Ford in Ringwood. Pleasure to deal with and i was treated like a new car buyer despite purchasing a 6 year old falcon. Flowers, Free XR mats, free window tint redone etc etc :D

Or.... did you pay $18k (guesstimate) for some flowers, XR mats and window tint, and they threw in a free car???

That'd make for a better stamp duty calculation anyway!!!

Nice car mate.... They really are a great package.
